Isabella was the first colony of Spain, founded by Christopher Columbus. Spain found a good amount of gold nearby. So they then made colonies in Puerto Rico in 1508, Jamaica in 1509, and Cuba in 1511. Puerto Rico and Jamaica were the second and third colonies in the Spanish Empire and the Indians fought the Spaniards and some of them died, some were put in forced servitude in mines or plantations. Cuba was the fourth colony of the Spanish Empire and the same thing happened with the Indians there. Those were the first colonies of the Spanish Empire, and there are many more.
